Other times, however, certain factors just might not mean that much to you, personally, as you look at MBA programs. So when you're perusing those MBA rankings in search of the right MBA program, here's what to concentrate on - and what you can ignore.
-
Choose Your Focus. Are you looking for an MBA program with a top-notch international marketing department? Then be sure to do your research well, to find out exactly what each school offers.
Sometimes, people get swept away by the prestigious MBA ranking of an Ivy League school without considering their own personal academic needs. An Ivy League program might impress a lot of people, but if they don't specialize in your area of interest, it might be wise to keep looking for the MBA program that's right for you.
-
Consider Your Schedule. Before you even start thumbing through MBA brochures, you should sit down and think realistically about how you'd like to pursue your MBA.
Will you want to work full time while studying, and take MBA classes at night? Are you more interested in going full time? Or have you been feeling like your schedule is too busy in general, and that a commute to school and back won't leave you with much time for studying - or anything else? In that case, you might want to look at online MBAs.
Whatever you decide on, just make sure that you're considering all your options - and making smart, informed decisions even before you apply.
